Dynamic Reduction Block Prints in Color!

Weekend intensive sessions Saturday and Sunday October 14th and 15th 10AM-3PM (half hour for lunch). Studio 208, Artspace downtown Raleigh.

Deep-dive into traditional and experimental printmaking techniques to create dynamic colorful prints. Participants will use a two-block printmaking technique to explore colors and texture, ultimately creating bold prints using a large flatbed press. Explore with layers of color and gradients. Linoblock printing experience is suggested but not necessary. We will be using Akua inks which are water soluble and eco friendly.

Maria Frati is an experienced block printmaker and teaching artist. Frati has a masters degree in art education from the Maryland Institute College of Art. She spent six years teaching art in public schools including four in New York City, and currently teaches at Pullen Art Center as well as at the Asheville Print Studio. Additionally she is a Demo Artist for Speedball Art Supplies. Maria adores the art of print and has been teaching printmaking for over ten years.
